
George W. Bush, 43rd President of the United States, accepted the 2010 Semper Fidelis Award at the Foundation’s annual Semper Fidelis Award Dinner.
Since leaving office, President Bush has focused on launching the George W. Bush Presidential Center at Southern Methodist University. As part of that Center, President Bush recently announced the George W. Bush Institute to advance the principles that guided his time in public service. The four initial major areas of focus for Institute programming will be education, global health, human freedom, and economic growth.
Most recently, at the request of President Barack Obama, President Bush has partnered with former President Bill Clinton to lead a private sector fundraising effort to help the Haitian people reclaim their country and rebuild their lives after the devastating earthquake. The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund will work to provide immediate relief and long-term support to earthquake survivors and will help the people of Haiti rebuild their cities, their neighborhoods, and their families.
For the fourth year, The Clorox Company was the Dinner Sponsor and Foundation Trustee and Chairman and CEO of Clorox, Mr. Donald R. Knauss, was the Dinner Chairman. It was certainly a memorable evening for all who attended!
